Get Ready for our annual SPRING CAMPING TRIP!

Date:   May 16-17

Location: Taylor's Falls, Interstate State Park, MN

Website for info: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/interstate/index.html

Getting There

From the South: Take I-35 north. Take the Taylors Falls Exit, Hwy 8 East. Follow 8 approximately 22 miles. The entrance to the park office is located on the right hand side of the road 1 mile before downtown Taylors Falls.

Here's all you need to do:

  1. RSVP to Scott as soon as you can so we've got a good count for food, etc.

  2. Equipment Check - this is tent camping, so you'll need tent and sleeping bags (and any other creature comforts).  Let your Den leader, Scott or Chuck know if you're short on equip, or are unsure what you need.

  3. Activities - as is our tradition, the Spring Camping Trip is hosted by the Boy Scouts (Troop 110).  They'll be planning activities - but plan on "active" activities, and pack clothing accordingly.

  4. Meals - we'll arrange all the meals.  Let Scott know if you have special dietary needs.  You can feel free to bring snacks or treats for yourself or others as you see fit.  There is generally a good supply of jerky, chips, cookies, candy, etc. that the boys like to bring for themselves or buddies.

  5. Costs - because of our terrific wreath sales, the Pack will again pay for all campsite fees and activity costs if any.  You just pay for cost of food, which is usually in the $20-25 range (we'll finalize that after the food is bought).

  6. Departure - see schedule below.  I'll provide detailed instructions as we get closer, but basically we meet up at the church parketing lot at 8am, and "convoy" up there.
